Frequently Asked Questions

What is Foothills Film + Footage?

I'm Kyra, an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot and filmmaker based in Longmont. I built Foothills Film + Footage because I kept seeing the same gap: real estate agents know aerial footage makes a difference, but getting it is expensive, time-consuming, and hard to do consistently. So I created a subscription library of beautiful aerial clips, stills, and pre-edited reels covering neighborhoods across Boulder County. You download what you need and use it in your marketing. It's ready when you are.

How does the subscription work?

You choose the plan that fits your business and get unlimited downloads from the library at your tier level. Solo Agent gives you access to clips and stills. Solo Pro adds neighborhood showcase reels and a monthly included shoot. Team and Brokerage plans bring multi-user access for your whole group. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime through your account dashboard. If you'd rather not subscribe, individual clips are also available for $89 each.

What neighborhoods do you cover?

I'm actively shooting neighborhoods across Boulder County, from Boulder and Louisville to Erie, Longmont, Lafayette, Superior, and Broomfield. The library is growing every week with new footage, and I'm always adding neighborhoods based on where subscribers are working. If there's a neighborhood you'd love to see in the library, just let me know.

Can I request a specific neighborhood?

Absolutely. I prioritize new neighborhoods based on subscriber interest, so if you're working an area that isn't in the library yet, reach out and I'll move it up the list. If you need footage of a specific area right away, I also offer production services where I can schedule a custom shoot for you.

Can you shoot outside of Boulder County?

Yes, I can. Shoots outside of Boulder County include a travel fee depending on the location. If you're interested in footage beyond the county, I'd love to hear about what you're looking for. Just reach out to me at kyra@foothillsfilmandfootage.com and we'll figure out what works for you.

What format is the footage?

All clips are delivered as high-quality 4K .mov files, professionally color-graded in Premiere Pro. Stills are high-resolution .jpg files. The pre-edited neighborhood reels come with licensed music and are ready to post. Everything is polished and ready to use without any additional editing or color work on your end.

What can I use the footage for?

Your subscription covers all the ways you'd want to market yourself and your listings: social media, listing presentations, your website, email campaigns, YouTube, and anything else in your marketing mix. Download what you need and use it across all your channels for as long as your subscription is active.

What are Founding Member plans?

Founding Members lock in 25% off their subscription rate for 24 months. This pricing is available through November 1, 2026. After that, the library opens to the public at standard rates. If you join as a Founding Member, your discounted rate stays locked for the full 24 months regardless of when standard pricing takes effect. It's my way of thanking the agents who believe in this early.

Can I use footage after my subscription ends?

Footage you download is licensed for use during your active subscription. When the subscription ends, the license ends too. Content you've already published, like a live listing or a social post that's already up, doesn't need to be taken down. But new use of the footage after cancellation requires an active subscription.

If there's a specific clip you want to keep using forever, individual clips are available for $89 with a perpetual license.

Is drone footage an invasion of privacy?

Not at all. All footage is captured from legal airspace following FAA regulations, and I hold a Part 107 commercial drone pilot certification. I'm filming the beauty of neighborhoods, parks, open spaces, and community areas. I don't fly over private backyards or capture footage of individuals. The focus is always on the landscape and the character of the neighborhood.

What is an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot, and why does it matter?

Part 107 is the FAA's commercial drone pilot certification. It means I've passed a federal exam covering airspace regulations, weather, safety, and flight operations. It's required by law for any commercial drone work. If you're using footage from someone who isn't certified, you could be taking on legal risk. Every frame in the FF+F library is captured legally and safely under my Part 107 certification.

Is Foothills Film + Footage insured?
Yes. Every shoot is backed by both general liability and drone liability insurance, so you can use this footage with confidence, knowing it was captured responsibly and professionally.
What if another agent in my area uses the same footage?

This is footage of the neighborhood, not your listing. The mountains, the trails, the open space, the feel of the community. That's something every agent in the area should be showing, and it's not something any one agent owns.

The library is large and always growing. With clips from different seasons, angles, and times of day, two agents pulling from the same library are very unlikely to end up with the same edit. And if you want something that's completely yours, I offer a Reels Package where I'll combine library footage with your listing photos, your branding, and your details. What starts as shared footage becomes a reel that belongs only to you.

I already work with a drone pilot. Why would I need this?

Your drone pilot captures your listings, and that's wonderful. I capture the neighborhoods your listings live in. It's different footage for a different purpose. One gets used on listing day. The other gives you farming content and ongoing marketing material for the weeks and months between listings.

Your video editor can work with my footage too. You download the clips and hand them off. They can weave them into your listing videos, your social content, whatever they're already building for you. It's one more resource in their toolkit, and it saves them a drone flight.

I need footage of my listing, not the neighborhood. Why would I use this?

Listing footage sells one house. Neighborhood footage helps you sell every house you list in that area. It's the content you use for farming, for staying visible between listings, for showing potential sellers that you genuinely know and invest in the neighborhoods you serve. Most agents don't have that content because it's hard to create on your own. That's exactly what I'm building here.

Buyers aren't just choosing a house. They're choosing a place to live. The listing photos show the kitchen. The neighborhood footage shows the life outside the front door.

And if you do need listing-specific aerial footage, I offer production services for that too. The library is the foundation for everything in between.

I don't have time to edit or post content. How does this help me?

The hardest part of staying visible on social media isn't the editing. It's having something worth posting in the first place. That's what the library gives you.

You don't need to edit anything if you don't want to. I have pre-edited neighborhood reels ready to go. Download one, post it, add a caption about the neighborhood, and you've got a beautiful piece of professional content in five minutes.

If you want to do more with it, you absolutely can. Download individual clips, hand them to your marketing person, or build your own content from them. The point is you're never starting from scratch. The footage is already made and ready for you.

Why pay monthly when I only list a few times a year?

If you're only thinking about aerial footage on listing day, a subscription might feel like a stretch. But listing day isn't where you win the next listing. You win it by being the agent who shows up in that neighborhood consistently. The one who clearly knows the area, invests in it, and cares enough to show it beautifully. That's farming. And the library gives you gorgeous content to do it every week without creating anything from scratch.

One listing commission covers years of the subscription. You don't need the library to pay off on every deal. You need it to help you earn the next one.

And if a subscription isn't the right fit yet, you can always purchase individual clips at $89 each whenever you need them.

Can't I just get aerial footage from a stock site or fly a drone myself?

A stock site gives you generic mountain footage. I give you the actual mountains behind the neighborhood you're selling in. The open space your buyers will walk their dogs in. The trails their kids will ride bikes on. You can't get that from a stock library because nobody else is out there flying these specific neighborhoods and building a collection around them.

And yes, you could fly it yourself. Get your Part 107 certification, invest in a quality drone, carve out the early mornings to fly and the evenings to edit. Or you could spend that energy doing what you're best at and let me handle the footage. That's why the library exists.
